08 May Bitfinex Launches Tether (USDt) Deposits and Withdrawals on Kaia

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, British Virgin Islands – 8 March, 2025 – Bitfinex (https://www.bitfinex.com), a premier digital asset trading platform, announced today that customers can now deposit and withdraw Tether tokens (USDt) on Kaia. By integrating USDt with Kaia, Bitfinex aims to leverage the blockchain’s high throughput and efficient transaction capabilities, providing users with a seamless experience for sending and receiving stablecoins without relying on external wallets.
Kaia is a layer-1 blockchain ecosystem formed from the merger of Klaytn and Finschia, two networks originally developed by messaging giants Kakao and LINE, which together serve a user base of approximately 250 million people. Kaia’s approach to integrating Mini Dapps within messaging apps such as LINE and KakaoTalk is designed to help everyday users easier access to blockchain-based services, and to ease a transition into Web3 technologies.

Tether’s USDt is the first and most widely used stablecoin on the market, reporting a market capitalisation of over $144 billion. Pegged 1-to-1 to the US dollar, it is designed to maintain a stable value and has become a core component of crypto markets.
Following this latest integration, Bitfinex customers are now able to deposit USDt across 20 blockchains and withdraw USDt across 15 blockchains*. This includes Algorand, Avalanche, Bitcoin Cash’s Simple Ledger Protocol (SLP), Ethereum, EOS, Liquid Network, Omni, Polygon, Polygon zkEVM, Tezos, Tron, Solana, Polkadot, Kusama, the Near Network, Kava, Celo, The Open Network, Aptos and now, Kaia.
*Deposits of USDt on Kusama, Bitcoin Cash SLP, EOS, Algorand and Omni Layer blockchains have been extended until 01/09/2025. See the full announcement here.
