Netflix’s Monster Remains in First

Netflix’s Monster anthology series, Monster: The Ed Gein Story, has made it two weeks in a row in the No. 1 position in Nielsen’s Top 10 Overall Streaming chart.

For the week of October 6, Monster led the way with 2.308 billion viewing minutes, a +51% increase from the previous week. The Adults 18-49 demo continued to be the series’ core audience, accounting for 61% of the series’ total viewers, while the share of the Adults 18-34 demo who watched the series also grew from 22% to 28%.

According to Nielsen Streaming Content Ratings, Netflix had two titles with over a billion viewing minutes and was represented in the chart with five titles, two of which had shared distribution rights. 

The reality dating series Love Is Blind landed in second place with 1.112 billion minutes viewed. Around 95% of the series’ viewing time belonged to the current season, which dropped three new episodes on October 8.

Sticking in third place was the shared title NCIS, available on Hulu, Netflix, and Paramount+, with 858 million viewing minutes. It was followed by Paramount+’s SpongeBob SquarePants, which jumped from seventh to fourth with 819 million viewing minutes. 

In the No. 5 position, Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters continued its top 10 stay, moving up one spot with 808 million minutes viewed.

The long-running crime procedural series Law & Order, which streams on Hulu and Peacock, led the bottom of the chart with 755 million viewing minutes for the week of October 6. 

It was followed by Disney+’s Bluey, which rose two places to 742 million minutes viewed. At No. 8 was the Hulu and Netflix shared series Grey’s Anatomy with 720 million viewing minutes. Bob’s Burgers from Hulu moved to ninth place with 700 million minutes viewed.

Taking the No. 10 spot was Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, with 683 million viewing minutes shared between Hulu and Peacock.
